California Dog Bites
Tuesday by: DoreenWhile many states allow for the ‘one free’ bite when it applies to dogs, California is not one of them. If you’ve been bitten by a dog, you may find that the owner is reluctant to allow you any compensation. Insurance companies have only one thing in mind and that’s to prevent you from being compensated for a dog bite.
The insurance company may try things like saying you were provoking the dog, that you should have assumed that the dog would bite or even to imply that you caused the attack.
Don’t forget – if you have been attacked by a dog in addition to physical injuries, you probably have missed work and you can and should be searching for monetary damages. You can do this successfully if you have a good attorney.
