California Business Litigation Attorneys
Wednesday by: DoreenWhether you are considering starting a new business, or are involved in an established business, you may have realized that you require the services of a business law attorney who can help you with litigation, contracts, discrimination suits, employee handbooks, termination law, sexual discrimination laws, sexual harassment laws, and similar laws.
At Rizio & Nelson, we are experienced in a wide variety of business law and use our knowledge and competence to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible.
We understand that your business is subject to not only state laws, but also to federal, county, and local laws, depending on your particular business. Even a small, home-based business must observe zoning ordinances and understand restrictions on hours of operation, employee counts, parking, and a host of other regulations that affect the business. Many communities even prohibit home-based businesses, unfortunately.
Business Structures
There are variable types of business structures, each with individual rules and regulations. Here are some examples:
* Sole Proprietorship means that a single individual owns his or her own business. In this situation, the individual has complete power and responsibility concerning the business, and subsequent profits and taxes.
* Limited Liability Company (LLC) refers to a company comprised of one or more members or companies. Each member is given limited liability, which is comparable to that of a shareholder in a large corporation. In Riverside County, LLC’s must file documents with the Secretary of State.
* Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) refers to companies that consist of at least two partners who practice law, architecture, or accounting. There is usually a general and limited partner in an LLC.
* Corporation means a legal entity that is apart from the owner. The owner of a corporation is generally limited from any personal liability.
