Summer is Coming!

With summer coming again, we will all be attending more outdoor events including cookouts, weddings and other events that often involve large gatherings of friends and families. Inevitably many of us are going to have a drink or two at these events, especially given that it’s warmer than usual outside.

To prevent the possibility of being of being cited for driving under the influence, it’s important that you appoint a designated driver before you head out to an event. If you are unable to designate a driver, please be aware of California’s stance on drinking and driving. If you drive and you are stopped and are cited for drinking and driving the law offices of Rizio & Nelson are here to help you mount a defense.

Make sure you politely answer any and all questions that you are asked by law enforcement official. You may also be asked to perform a field sobriety test as well as to submit to a roadside breathalyzer test. You should submit to these immediately. Refusal to take any tests may result in a loss of license for up to one year.
